CLIMATE JUSTICE

GenEarth has partnered with the UK Youth Climate Coalition (UKYCC) to deliver Climate Justice workshop to young people.

This workshop has been designed by young people, is delivered by young people, for young people. A programme that grounds itself in being youth-led and centres a climate justice lens within environmental education

About UKYCC

The UK Youth Climate Coalition (UKYCC) is a UK youth group that mobilises and empowers young people to take positive action for global climate justice. UKYCC is a voluntary, consensus-led, non-hierarchy, and non-profit organisation. Their members are based UK-wide, and share the common goal to achieve genuine global climate justice. UKYCC volunteers collaborate to work towards creating a just, sustainable world in which current and future generations enjoy and protect a healthy environment.

Climate Justice Workshops

Nurture an understanding of how to bring about climate justice, how to cope with eco-anxiety, and how to create grassroots change in their communities through a local campaign.

During the workshop students will:

  • Understand what climate justice is, how climate change affects people unequally, and how it connects to their own lives and communities.

  • Reflect on power and fairness in the climate crisis, and develop critical thinking by asking challenging questions and exploring social justice.

  • Build confidence and practical skills to take climate action (individually and collectively), including planning projects or campaigns in their school or local area.

"The Climate Justice workshop was invaluable to our pupils, they were talking about it inside and outside the classroom to their peers and members of the community. The pupils are driven to consider their actions for climate change."
